2020 COYOTES COACHING STAFF
Baseball coach Darrell Davis, is 47 years old. He has lived in Santa Clarita for over 34 years. Coach Davis graduated from Saugus High School in 1989. He played baseball and football in high school.
Coach Davis played baseball at College of the Canyons and one year at Cal State Northridge. He currently is a Sergeant II for the Los Angeles Police Department. Coach Davis has two boys, one of his sons Devin graduated from Valencia High School High in 2015 and is currently playing in the minor leagues for the Anaheim Angels. Coach Davis's other son Darren, is currently a sophomore at Saugus High School and is playing on the Junior Varsity Baseball team.
Coach Davis has been coaching for 25 years. He has coached several travel ball teams and has been successful at several levels. Coach Davis also has been coaching in the Santa Clarita Warrior Football program for 15 years. Coach Davis enjoys coaching and mentoring young adults. Coach Davis has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal justice and an Associates degree in Physical Education.

Coach Tanner Koonce graduated from William S. Hart High School in 2009, where he played both baseball and football. He was also a duel sport athlete at Glendale Community College, before knee injuries led him to a career in coaching.
Since retiring from the game, Coach Koonce served as Head Frosh Baseball Coach and assistant JV football Coach for Golden Valley High School from 2012 to 2013 before assuming the head freshman coaching position at Valencia High School from 2013 to 2016. He is a veteran club baseball coach as well, having coached teams for the SCV Dirtbags, ASAP Baseball Program, and the I-5 Bambinos, which he coached to a Cooperstown championship.
In his free time he loves watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys and watching his brother Riyan who is a College baseball player in Arkansas. We are so excited and fortunate to have Coach Koonce on staff as well as working full time at Castaic!
Coach Josue Iniguez currently serves as pitching coach for the coyotes.The Past two years he helped Golden Valley both varsity and JV teams to their best seasons in school history.
Iniguez began his pitching career at Hart High School, then Pasadena City College, where he made the All-Star team his sophomore year. After PCC he attended Kansas State University under Head Coach Brad Hill.
Coach Iniguez played several years of pro ball in the independent leagues, including stints with the Rio Grande White Wings and Ruidoso Osos. He also played AA ball in Puerto Rico until retirement and returning to Santa Clarita to begin his coaching career. His great knowledge of pitching will bring us many wins in the upcoming years.
Coach David begins his first year coaching at the high school level, a graduate of Littlerock High School where he played varsity baseball. He went on to start a career in Broadcast Television as Video Technician. He attended College of the Canyons to become an EMT which lead him to become a volunteer firefighter /EMT at La Habra Heights Fire Department.
Over 10 years of coaching at the youth level, Coach David has passion to coaching and his family. He strives to learn more on the professional level, understanding multiple skills and mental approach to game to share and apply these attributes our team.
He also started The Ambassadors Athletics Club Team, a team in the Santa Clarita Valley. A team that gives opportunities to athletes not on the travel ball circuit to compete at a higher level.
We are excited to have Coach David on board to help our infielders and his expertise of teaching our players the right morals in becoming great baseball players and more importantly great young men.
